                              Dan Morang

                              Picture
                              Dan Morang is a life long resident of Washington County, currently residing in Edmunds Township.  He is a graduate of the University of Maine at Machias with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Dan is currently the 5th & 6th grade teacher at Perry Elementary School and Station Manager at Suffolk University’s R.S. Friedman Field Station. Recently, Dan’s class wrote grants that funded the construction of Perry’s Green Dream, Washington County’s first energy efficient year-round greenhouse.  When not teaching, Dan enjoys spending his time with his wife Julie, his three children Gabby, Peyton, and Max, and two Golden Retrievers, Moxie and Buddy.


                              E. Janie Small

                              Janie Small has worked for Dept of Labor for almost 20 years as the Youth Program Manager for the Workforce Investment Act.  Her job is to enhance the  educational and employment opportunities for Washington County youth ages 14-21 through assistance in overcoming barriers to reaching their goals. She is also responsible for the creation of the Downeast Dan workshops which are fun, interactive workshops with everything from: Downeast Needs Money for College, Help Dan Find the Dough to Monkey See, Monkey Do, don’t Let anyone bully you! 

                              Weston Ranalli

                              Weston Ranalli is a home-educated sophomore who lives in
                              Big Lake Township. He is the first recipient of The HAPPY Grant
                              to be used in  the Woodland High School drama program. Weston currently participates in high  school drama and volunteers with the elementary drama club at the Princeton Elementary School.  He also plays trombone and baritone for Woodland and instructs a Lego robotics club for elementary students.  In his free time, Weston enjoys reading, hunting, and fishing.


                              Kristen Chandler

                              Kristen Chandler is a lifelong resident of Washington County, living in  Milbridge. She is a 2011 graduate of the University of Maine at Machias where she earned her B.A. in Behavioral Science/Community Studies. Kristen is currently finishing a 2nd term with AmeriCorps (Teen  Leadership and CareerCorps division), working with youth at the CareerCenter and Machias Memorial High School. In her spare time she enjoys driving her motorcycle, spending time with friends, and camping.

                               

                              Lanette Pottle

                              Lanette Pottle was born, raised, and educated in Washington County.  In addition to being a Human Resource Manager, she is the founder of Positivity Nation and The HAPPY Grant. She has a great passion for making a difference... in the lives of youth, in her community, and the global community at large through her work with Positivity Nation. Lanette resides in Robbinston with her husband Mike. Together they have a blended family of five children: Chris, Scott, Jesse, Kayla & Kaytlin.  When not working she enjoys reading, nature walks, beach combing, and atv riding.
