Positively Kind Week
People from around the globe focused on intense levels of kindness during Positively Kind Week -- April 8-14,2012. The first community in the world to officially proclaim the week as such was Washington County, Maine.
On March 8,2012, Washington County Commissioners signed an official proclamation supporting Positively Kind Week.
In part, the proclamation reads:
“Be it resolved that we, the Board of Commissioners for Washington County, Maine do hereby declare April 8- 14 as Positively Kind Week in the towns, cities, and territories of Washington County. In honor of this event we encourage community agencies, religious organizations, businesses, and others to celebrate by planning and participating in kindness based activities which enhance the lives of others.”
